One person has been killed and another injured after shots were fired in a court in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Associated Press is reporting.
The shooting took place shortly after 10 a.m. local time (4 a.m. ET) in a bailiff's court in Hestemøllerstræde near Raadhuspladsen (Town Hall Square), according to The Local Denmark.
Authorities say a suspect was arrested nearby and a weapon was seized.
There was no immediate information on the identity of the victims or the suspect, but head of Copenhagen City Court Søren Axelsen said the shooting was likely the result of "a family showdown," the Associated Press reported.
A Copenhagen Police press release written just before 11:30 a.m. local time (4:30 a.m. ET) said: "Two people were shot. One is in critical condition, while the other has died".
Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet has published an image showing a police officer aiming a gun at a person on their knees, and claim that this shows the arrest of the suspect.
